Here’s the latest LEGO model I’ve been working on for the last 3-4 days (thank God for bank holiday weekends! π ) It’s based on the old X-29 Experimental fighter plane designed by NASA, instantly recognisable by it’s forward swept wings. Quite early on in it’s production my model became a more heavy, space-age variation on the X-29, rather than a faithful representation, and I think it looks all the better for that.
If you head on over to My BrickShelf Gallery there’s a ton of different shots of it to gaze upon in awe… :p
Veeery nice! The wheels are awesome.
But I think its looks better from medium distance. All the details from close make it look a little fragile. But cool that its completely gray from below with some yellow highlights.

Love this one Nathan – you should get it photographed nicely too, dark room with a couple of small light sources. Do an aircraft hang style shot with plenty of shadows.

hmm.. yeah, a hanger shot would be nice.. maybe I should’ve built a futuristic hanger to go with it… complete with repair bots, winches, black/yellow stripes and all that jazz.. pity the original model is disassembled now though..! π

[…] Nathan has made a LEGO version of that famous plane. Β It took him a long weekend to build, and used exactly 1,000 pieces. […]
